The Professional Actors Masterclass (previously known as Professional Actors Workshop Series Los Angeles), has been put together by AIPA and a selection of LA’s top casting professionals for actors. We all recognise that there is a need for a genuine series of Masterclasses so that emerging actors can work with the American decision makers.
The aim of this project is simple – ‘to introduce actors and have them taught by the leading casting directors and network casting executives in Los Angeles’.
The team of casting professionals from the US and Canada, who are teaching the series are world class, so we are looking for world class emerging actors, who are LA ready. To see if you have what it takes, please read the fact sheet.

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE PROFESSIONAL ACTORS MASTERCLASS:
WHO SHOULD APPLY? From the 2012 FACT Sheet:
PAM has been designed for actors who are:
a)
18 years plus (exceptions may be made
in absolutely exceptional cases, but unlikely)
b)
Represented by a reputable agent or
management firm in your home country and/or in the US
c)
Have professional credits and/or
substantial training at a recognized school or institution
d)
Actively pursuing an acting career and
if not living in the US, having the skills and credits to satisfy visa requirements
e)
Are serious about building connections
and the work involved to make this a reality
Please ensure
that you qualify under the visa waiver programme or can secure a visitor’s visa

HOW DO I APPLY AND WHEN ARE APPLICATIONS BEING ACCEPTED?

The first thing you need to do is ensure that you can travel to the US if you are not already here. Please ensure that
you qualify under the visa waiver programme or can secure a visitor’s visa for
the US. This is quick and simple. A travel agent should be able to advise you
of how to do this if you can’t find it online.
Please read through all the information carefully. As we have a quick turnaround, prior to you applying, please ensure that you can have the time off work and have the means to support the course fees, accommodation costs and living expenses. Auditions are being viewed by some of the casting directors teaching. Please do not waste their time if you cannot be involved.
Actors should call AIPA’s Sydney (+61 2 9966 5425) or LA (+1 323 882 8098) office and ask any questions you may have. You should register your interest online so the staff know to expect your link.
STEP ONE Send a link to your reel or website to pam@aipa.com.au and mark the subject line APPLICATION FOR PAM LA 2012 AND YOUR NAME. If you don’t have a reel online, please tape a short audition scene, upload it and email it to us. We would expect that actors applying for this course have material online or access to it.
STEP TWO If your reel is approved, you will then be contacted to arrange a time to Skype with the casting director who reviewed your reel and you will read with them (please choose from sides below). You will be given an answer either way and if successful, emailed paperwork so that you can book your flights with confidence and get yourself organized.
